The Boy who loved his Caterpillar edition by Munmun Gupta Children eBooks
This is the author's first book featuring a nonfiction topic, the metamorphosis from caterpillar to butterfly. Story features a boy named Dave who has a pet caterpillar, Wiggles. Dave and his father take us through the stages; eventually Dave realizes that it is time for his pet to go free.I like the idea of comparing the caterpillar's life cycle to the maturation process of a child. Dave's father has a powerful message for his child. This book is targeted for children ages 4-16; the illustrations are large simple and cartoon-like. However, the text includes many sentences approaching twenty words in length, and vocabulary words like lurked, transformed, abundance and succulent are too sophisticated for very young children. While they may be able to follow the pictures, an adult will need to explain the text. For these reasons, I would recommend the book especially for children who have mastered beginning reading skills; most third and fourth graders would be comfortable with it.

The Boy who loved his Caterpillar edition by Munmun Gupta Children eBooks Reviews
Great summer read for my boy. He enjoyed learning about the life and transitions of a caterpillar and young boy.
Very cute book. My kids loved it and so did I!
I really hate caterpillars but I was forced by Munmun Gupta's boy to love one! This book would help children develop a good interest in reading and that would make a huge difference in their lives. A must read for your child and of course for my children! Recommended.
